Skydiving Adventure!

Skydiving Adventure!

Chris, one of the Polish guys here, organized for a group of us to go sky diving this weekend! I have never been sky diving before and have always wanted to do it, so I thought, “Why not?” We had our group (me, Ashok, Kevin, Keith, Chris) scheduled for yesterday, but after the one hour drive to get to Gold Coast Divers, the clouds were overcast, the weather was freezing, and it looked like we were not going to be able to jump. So instead of waiting to see if the weather clears up, we just made an early morning appointment for today, and ate a nice Thai lunch in Hattiesburg. FAIL. I was not really afraid or nervous for skydiving but the bad weather seemed to be a sign… like I was going to die that day hahaha so it was a good thing we didn’t jump. So  this morning, we all woke up early to try once more… the weather today was exceptionally beautiful out! Clear blue skies, cool weather, and not a single cloud in sight, my favorite type of weather!!! Everyone was pumped to go up! Chris, who is extremely scared of heights, was so nervous. I’m not quite sure why I am not really afraid of these things… I just get into the mentality of “LETS DO IT” and I just do it. I had this old man instructor, who was EXTREMELY creepy!!! He told me that he would impregnate me in the air, and would keep flexing and un-flexing his wee-wee in my butt crack.. It was really uncomfortable… The little plane took us up to 15,000 feet in the air and when it was my turn, we crawled up to the side door and then “3... 2... 1… JUMP!” Somersaulting face forward out of a plane at 15,000 feet in the air was so exhilarating! It was such an adrenaline rush for about 60 seconds when you are free falling. All I could do was scream. My eyes were tearing up, my scarf and “special” hat were slowly inching up to fly off my tiny head, my feet were freezing, and so many thoughts going on at one time… the feeling was just crazy! Cruising around in the air with the parachute out was a bit strange because I was attached to the creeper guy behind me in silence… not much to talk about to someone who wants to impregnate me in the air… awkward… We had a rough landing, but everything else was awesome. I was excited to see my photos/video, but I when I actually got to see them, I just look stoopit and uncoordinated (like always... I am so awkward and ungraceful!!!).

Today’s adventure was such a great experience and now I know that for sure I want to do this again… hopefully in New Zealand (something I have been wanting to check off on my bucket list before I die!). After our almost to death experience, we all met up at a Mexican restaurant and celebrated with $4 margaritas! Yay! I also celebrated my “re-birth” by going golfing! It was such a nice day out; I couldn’t waste the day indoors in my apartment. I have always hated golfing because I really suck at golf, but drinking/driving golf carts is something I learned that I am good at… Kind of…

Anyway, today was an extremely fun, but exhausting day! Time for some relaxing and sleeping!
