Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana

Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Louisiana

The past month, I have been organizing a huge trip out to New Orleans, LA for Mardi Gras for our whole group here in Mississippi... It was really stressful trying to organize everything, collecting all the money from everyone, coordinating with the lady I booked the housing with through Airbnb.com, etc.... but it was totally worth it! Dealing with the lady I rented from was so frustrating because she was stressed with the amount of people coming previous our group for the Superbowl as well as the amount of people from our group.. so she was putting all her stress out on me!! It was super awkward since she put all these rules on us last minute...  We were honestly never at home, unless it was for us to sleep so everything worked out fine. I thought I would be enjoying the Mardi Gras festivities while devouring the delicious foods that NOLA has to offer.... wrong... !! All we did was drink and barely eat anything... the only delicious foods I had in NOLA were the delicious fatty foods Bourbon street had to offer. We did have breakfast at this little mom&pop place one morning with literally with one cook (the mother)... so when 20+ people showed up at one time, the cook was overwhelmed and our service was pretty horrible, though food was good...

It was quite a party the whole weekend... I  drank beer for breakfast... To sum up what we did that weekend... all day long drinking, beads, hot dogs, and dancing until 5-6AM for two full nights and one full day. We went to the huge and famous Edymion Parade and I got so many beads! YES! I am awesome at catching them. I also saw Kelly Clarkson, which was pretty cool, I guess. All the festivities and drinking was fun, but it was also very nice to hang out with the other group more. It was a good break away from Laurel, MS and just to be able to really let loose.

I am proud to say that I did not show my tits or any other parts of my body for any beads. It is crazy what people would do just for little plastic 99 cents beaded necklaces... I know, I know.. I am lame, but seriously give up my self respect for my body just for some damn beads? My integrity and pride costs more than that!!!! After a lot of beers, drinks, pizzas, hot dogs, taxi rides, beads... by the end of it,  Mardi Gras owned me... My Como Corso leather boots came back destroyed (it looked like someone vomited all over my feet), I lost my license/ID, got beer/grease spilled all over me 5-6 times, and I also broke both sides of my phone (back side cracked on Friday night, front side cracked really bad on Saturday night with chunks of glass missing)... It was quite an experience for me... I think I did enough Mardi Gras partying for a life time and I never want to do it again, unless I am on a balcony and my phone has no where to break whenever I drop it...
