My Last Supper(s)
Yes… Last Suppers… plural..... haha Don't judge me!!!! As my last night in Brunei, we were trying to either plan a party with the all the workshop workers at one of the staff houses, or go out to Malaysia (either mini KL or Miri) for some dinner and drinks, or to have a house gathering somewhere, but for some reason, all plans ended up failing. I was really really sad and disappointed that plans did not go as expected... I was just hoping to hang out and spend some quality time with everyone (esp Suresh, Pao Pao, Dean, Amin, & Goh) before I left. But somehow, it ended that we would have two dinners.
We decided to go straight after work to this little Chinese place in downtown KB to have my favorite dish in all of Brunei.... Gomeereng (fried noodle with meat and curry powder)!!! The first time I tried it at this place, I had two plates like a fatty. After our first dinner, we decided to meet up later that night for dinner and/or coffee and drinks.
I wasn't sure what was going on... so I just waited at home packing. Dinner with everyone did not work out, but me and Dean decided to go to Charcoal, a famous steak restaurant in Brunei. We both got Wagyu beef steak with our mocktinis and watermelon juice! It was pretty good, but definitely not worth it for the price (this restaurant is more on the "pricey" side). After diner we headed out to the coffee shop. The Coffee Bean was too crowded, so we moved on to this little shop called Marilyn's. I had a lychee juice, while everyone else had a cappuccino. Everyone showed up and it was so nice to just talk and laugh about the silly, ridiculous things that had happened this past month (especially about me "getting easy" *pushups*.... nooooo!!!). Goh didn't come because he was too busy playing Magic.... Apparently Magic > Me. Rude!!! :-x sigh.. it's okay though.. I at least got to hang out with the other engineers and had a really good time. Although it was not close to what I imagined my last night to be, it was really a great night just talking and laughing.
I know what I'll miss the most in this country will be the people I have met. They have all been so awesome and accommodating. At the end of the night, we all took a final photo together, but it was so bittersweet. Anyway, tomorrow will be a long travel day and I must sleep. Good night!!!!
